Because You're Mine (2011)

We see a man and woman wearing blank masks, the ultimate symbol for disguise and performance, their body language revealing contradictory dynamics; at times cold and distanced, at others intensely absorbed in each other. We hear Nina Simone's "I put a spell on you" as the scene progresses into a drunken haze that culminates with a symbolically violent finale. "Because You're Mine" is a disquieting short video that probes issues of power dynamics between the sexes, festish and obssession, and ultimately, the visceral nature of desire.
